ILEX appoint first female chief

ILEX, the Londonderry company tasked with urban regeneration of the city, has appointed a new chief executive.
Aideen McGinley, originally from Strabane, will become the company's first female head.
The most senior woman in Northern Ireland's civil service, Mrs McGinley is currently Permanent Secretary to the Department of Employment and Learning.
She was formerly a chief executive of Fermanagh District Council.
Mrs McGinley has previously worked as a town planner in Donegal and in economic development in Strabane and Fermanagh. She has also been involved in various other bodies including the Omagh Fund, the Verbal Arts Centre and the National Lottery Charities Board.
Aideen McGinley was awarded an OBE in 2000.
