A HALLOWEEN hooley being organised to raise funds for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice (NICH) has received the backing of Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs and local world title prospect Paul McCloskey.
A ball is being held in the Waterfoot Hotel this Saturday, October 31, in honour of brave Ben Kennedy from Maydown who over the past five years has overcome a potentially life-threatening condition to take pride of place in his class at Oakgrove Inte
grated Primary School.
The fundraiser will raise money for the NICH and pay tribute to all the staff who have proved such a help to Ben over the years.
Backing the Halloween party is Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, who has signed a United shirt, and Dungiven boxer Paul McCloskey, who has donated a pair of boxing gloves, both of which prizes will be auctioned off at the 'do'.
Tickets are £15, which includes a drinks reception (alcoholic punch), band and disco and buffet. There is also a raffle with loads of great prizes and prizes for best costume (fancy dress).
Ben's proud folks Lee and Lesley are urging people to come along and support a great cause: "The night is in aid of the NICH who have given our family so much support this last five years we want to give something back.
"We are hoping to raise as much as we can for them, so come along, bring friends and family as a night is only made if we have the people to attend - we are expecting around 150-200 guests on the evening so should be a good night - instead of heading into the town come on down.
"Tickets can be obtained at the Waterfoot hotel, Children's Hospice Shop, Shipquay Street, Marshals Shop, Maydown or by contacting myself directly 07960899806 or 07958120557."
