City centre robbery

DETECTIVES in Londonderry are appealing for witnesses after a city centre taxi firm was robbed last night, (Thursday, October 29).


It is understood that three or four armed men wearing scarves raided the premises between 8.30 and 9pm.
The Sentinel has learned that drivers employed by the taxi company pay their rent to the firm on Thursday evenings. A significant amount of cash was stolen during the incident.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the William Street area between 8.30 and 9pm and could help with the investigation to contact them on 0845600800 or the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on freephone 0800555111.
