AXA Insurance has confirmed it’s creating eighty new roles at its Londonderry Customer Contact Centre of Excellence, in Springtown Business Park.

The announcement comes three months after the firm said it was moving jobs from Dublin to Londonderry following a review of its business processes.

Sean Harnett, Centre Manager at the Londonderry Customer Contact Centre Manager commented: “Our Derry Customer Contact Centre has proven to be an excellent strategic investment by AXA.

“It efficiently services the company’s business operations across the Island of Ireland while at the same time building on AXA’s strong presence with 15 branches across Northern Ireland.”

Foyle DUP MLA Gary Middleton welcomed the job boost

“It is welcome news today that AXA insurance have announced the creation of an additional 80 jobs at their Centre of Excellence at Springtown Business Park.

“This latest investment in Londonderry is a welcome boost for the local area and economy but also a vote of confidence in the city as a destination to bring jobs.”

AXA said the roles will service AXA customers throughout the Island of Ireland supporting the company’s customer service, claims and sales operations. It says AXA is looking for enthusiastic and friendly people who can provide great service for our customers and that full training, flexible shift patterns and a competitive salary will be offered.

AXA Insurance has operated at the Londonderry Customer Contact Centre since 2007.

In a statement the firm said: “AXA’s journey here began with twenty staff and has expanded year on year, providing employment locally for over two hundred staff. “Following a review of the business processes, AXA decided in the interests of efficiency and customer service to consolidate more of its customer facing operations in the Derry Customer Contact Centre.”

The company said the expansion in Londonderry showed it’s here for the long haul.

“These new opportunities confirm AXA’s commitment to this site.”

In a statement issued in February the firm announced: “AXA Insurance operates on an all Island basis and following a review of its business processes has decided in the interests of efficiency and customer service to consolidate some of its operations, which will involve the relocation of some roles from Dublin to Derry.”

It said there would be few job losses.

“Net job losses will be small and the company is confident this can be achieved on a voluntary basis,” it said.

AXA employs 161,000 people and serves 103 million clients in 59 countries. AXA had Euro 1,363 billion assets under management as of December 31, 2015.
