600 vulnerable adults referred

ALMOST 600 vulnerable people were subject to adult safeguarding referrals in the Western Trust over the past three years, the Health Minister Edwin Poots has revealed.

Over 350 adult protection plans were established in relation to vulnerable adults over the same time frame.

The Minister said there were 597 referrals between 2009 and 2012; 148 in 2009/10; 205 in 2010/11; and 244 in 2011/12.

There were 363 adult protection plans; 106 in 2009/10; 121 in 2010/11; and 136 in 2011/12.
