400 recognised by awards to date
THE Chairman of the Londonderry Credit Union Youth Committee says 400 young people have been recognised in the lender’s Young People’s Awards to date.
Tiarnan Heaney encouraged people to nominate any young person aged between 11 and 18 for the 2013 award before time runs out this Friday, March 8.
He explained: “In the nine years the scheme has been running, over 400 young people have been acknowledged for the positive contribution they make to their families, communities, schools and teams.
“Any young person aged from 11-18 may be nominated and anyone may nominate -- family, friends, teachers, coaches or neighbours, for example.
“You don’t have to be member of Derry Credit Union to make a nomination or to be nominated. It only takes a couple of minutes to complete the form and forms are available now at the reception desk in Derry Credit Union, Abbey Street, and may also be downloaded from the Derry Credit Union website at www.derrycu.com.”
