Frightful evenings and spooky tales at The Playhouse this Halloween

THE Playhouse have announced a spooky array of frightful evenings to scare and delight this Halloween!

Celebrations for the scariest time of year will be marked with the return of the ever successful Halloween Ghost Stories with Ken McCormack. The Playhouse yarn-spinners will yet again bring a brand new series of ghostly stories to life tonight (Friday) at The Playhouse and again this Sunday (October 30) at The Beech Hill Hotel.

This Saturday, October 29, Centre Stage Theatre Company will present the first professional revival of the universally acclaimed Irish classic ‘All Souls Night’ by Joseph Tomelty for 20 years. Colin Carnegie directs, John Leslie designs, and Roma Tomelty and Gordon Fulton head the usual strong Company of Ulster actors bringing the play to the stage to celebrate the centenary of Joseph Tomelty’s birth.

Then, on Halloween night itself, Monday, October 31, a very special and exclusive bOUNCE event will be held in the Playhouse Community room.

The ‘Vampire Strikes Back’ will see Kaidi Tatham (Agent K, Bugz, 2000 Black- London) with keyboards, percussion and Flute- all live. Also in the line will be Leroy Culture vs Pete Magee- (Afro Bass and Bouse- Dublin and Derry) while Kwame vs Julien (Bounce West Africa To East London via Paris). Doors open at 9.30pm. Pauline Ross at The Playhouse said: “We’ve really got something for everyone this Halloween! There’s everything from ghosts, ghouls, ancient tales and local yarns to the best live djs from around the world.”

Tickets for The Playhouse Halloween Ghost stories tonight (Friday) at 8pm are £8 for adults/ £5 for children and £15 for The Beech Hill Hotel on Sunday (October 30) at 5.30pm, which includes a delicious Spooky Supper.
