A much depleted YMCA Ladies side made the long journey to Dromore Co Down, last Thursday night to compete in the NIWFA Championship top of the table clash.

With a very strong Dromore Ladies side who had won their first two league games and lead YM
on goal difference.

YM had to do without the services of influential midfielder Aine McKeever, experienced midfielder Ursina Carpeder, versatile Amy Lee McIvor and defender Catherine McSheefrey and travelled with a patched up and inexperienced side.

The visitors started brightly and both Avila Bergin and Kendra McMullan tested the Dromore keeper from distance but Dromore gradually played themselves into the game and on 20 minutes almost took the lead when a shot from the edge of the box crashed off the croosbar to safety.

Just before half-time YM had a great chance to open the scoring when Bergin went through on the keeper but pushed her shot wide of the post.
The second half began with Dromore pressing the YM defence but they found Chloe Archibald and Laura Nicholas in the YM defence in outstanding form.

YM looked dangerous on the break with McMullan and Bergin linking up well and causing Dromore all kinds of trouble but chances were at a premium and the game fizzled out to a 0-0 draw.

YM returned home delighted with a very good point especially considering the inexperienced side on show and Nicholas and Archibald played magnificently in defence while goalkeeper Alice Harkness belied her young age with a commanding performance and exquisite handling and marshalling of the defence.
