THE annual Rockers Reunion gig will be held at the Nerve Centre in Londonderry on Saturday, October 3.
The organisers are very pleased to announce one of the strongest line-ups they have had the pleasure of putting together.
Headlining the seventh reunion are The Rubber Plants - one of the best Led Zeppelin tributes around.
The Plants have toured ex
tensively to sell out audiences across Ireland and the UK and have recently reached the finals of Scrap Metal, an RTÉ competition to find the best Heavy Metal tribute act.
This exciting show will be screened in the autumn with Biff from Saxon and Brian Robertson, formerly of Thin Lizzy and Motorhead on the judging panel.
Popular local band Swanee River also take to the stage after having had a very successful year to date with support slots in Ireland and the UK with The Answer and Taste.
Their influences are drawn from a range of bands including Free, Led Zeppelin and Rory Gallagher but still manage to produce a sound that makes them distinct from anyone else.
Next up is an act who have also had a very successful year. The excellent Million Dollar Reload, whose influences are AC/DC, Guns N' Roses and Aerosmith, have performed at this year's Download Festival.
Their debut album Anthems of a Degeneration has been well received by many critics and have had great reviews after their tours of the United States and the UK.
Their vocalist Phil Conalane had been widely reported, at one point, as a possible replacement for the Velvet Revolver vacancy.
Also Skinny Lizzy, who have been around the local music scene for a number of years, will be performing the best of Thin Lizzy on the night.
They have recently announced that they will be retiring from the stage so this may be one of the last chances to see this Lizzy band.
The youngest of the five-band line-up is local Metal outfit Hybris. These guys are turning heads at every venue they play and have already won two Battle of the Bands competitions held on the same day - in Portstewart and Derry.
Many critics have said that they have all the ingredients and capabilities to achieve bigger things in the near future.
Also on the night there will be the opportunity to purchase volume three of hte Rocker's Reunion Charity CD, which brings together new tracks from local acts Triggerman, Sandstone, Swanee River and Hybris.
Tickets for the event are priced £5 and can be purchased from Trash in Waterloo Street, the Nerve Centre Box Office and the Foyle Down Syndrome Trust in Spencer Road.
All proceeds from this event go to the Foyle Syndrome Syndrome Trust and Foyle View School.
