THERE was a limited programme of action in Billy Henderson Properties Ltd Senior Two on Saturday, but no doubt that the big game of the day was the Sammy Jeffrey Memorial final at Eglinton, where Bonds Glen beat defending champions St Johnston in a surprisingly one-sided contest.
The Saints were masters of their own downfall, the Donegal side dropping an absolute hatful of catches (14 in total!) and allowing their opponents to seize the initiative through their wastefulness.

Roy Robinson batted really well at the top of the order to make 73, a knock that was to win him the man of the match award and skipper Martin Mehaffey added 45 and Willie Jackson 43 as the Bee Gees piled on the runs.

Rammohan Goud claimed three wickets while James Robinson and Andrew Fleming picked up two each but the runaway league leaders were facing a total of 255 to hold on to their trophy. That was to prove some way beyond them as the Bonds Glen bowlers kept their discipline and Ian MacBeth's 27 was the best they had to offer in reply.

This was the Bee Gees' first senior trophy although St Johnston can gain swift and decisive consolation this coming weekend if they beat Drummond to clinch the Billy Henderson Properties Senior Two championship.

There were three league games played on Saturday as well, Ardmore keeping a semblance of pressure on the Donegal side by beating The Nedd by 61 runs. Paul Brolly made 74 in the Bleachgreen side's 211 for 6 and although Alex Steele, Creighton Wilson and Kyle Morrow all got among the runs, the hosts were all out for 150.

Ardmore host Bonds Glen next weekend whilst The Nedd look to strengthen their mid-table position when they entertain Creevedonnell.

Brian Dougherty's side were also in action at the weekend, North Fermanagh the visitors to the Curryfree Road and Emlyn Andrews' team left still looking for their first win of the season.

Raymond Gibson and Charlie Elder both claimed three wickets, the latter bowling seven maidens in his nine overs as the Kesh side were dismissed for just 97.
Despite reducing the hosts to 6 for 3, Ellis McGarrigle and Thomas Nelson combined to see their side through to a 7-wicket win.

Burndennett pay a visit to Fermanagh next weekend in what looks like another tough day for them.

The final match saw a Craig Hartin inspired Drummond easily account for Sion Mills in convincing style. The skipper made 107 and Kevin McIntyre an unbeaten 44 as the visitors declared on 235 for 4. James Stewart made 32 and Johnny McCrea 25 in Sion's 110 all out with Hartin and Warren McIlmoyle taking three wickets each.

Both sides are on the road on Saturday, Drummond trying to prevent St Johnston from winning the title whilst Sion are at Killyclooney.
