ALL eyes will be on David Cooke as he leads his team to Strabane on Saturday for a match in which victory would secure the Billy Henderson Properties Ltd Senior One title for the Limavady men.
It's been nine long years since the Roe Valley side have had their hands on the Senior One championship trophy but while Cooke said his team were certainly not going to Strabane to lose he admitted it was not going to be a 'walk over'.

He said: "All season, Strabane have played a powerful opening partnership and we don't anticipate this will change on Saturday.

"Strabane have a definite advantage and they will work it anyway they can.

"They will have the wicket prepared to suit them but we are more than ready for anything they throw at us.

"The entire team is in top form, morale is high and one reason we have been so successful this season is that the team is made up entirely by well rounded players who can bowl, bat and catch equally well. The whole team is on fire right through the season.

"When you take into consideration that for half the season we had no pitch of our own and we had to practice and play on other people's grounds it is even more of an indication of just how high a calibre of player we have. This will make a win on Saturday all the sweeter."

Saturday's decider in Strabane was secured last weekend when Cooke led his team on a demolition of Glendermott and after that easy win they got the news that Strabane had lost at home to Eglinton.

Bready's slim title hopes disappeared when they were defeated by neighbours Fox Lodge while bottom club Coleraine showed why they are in dire straits - scoring just 99 at Beechgrove and losing to Brigade - and Killymallaght did even worse, scoring just 83 and losing by ten wickets to Donemana.

With all the preparations made, the Roesiders have just one concern that is beyond their control and that is the weather.

Cooke explains: "Bad weather will be a disaster for us and twice this season alone it let us down but we are hoping it will be third time lucky.

"At the end of the day there is little we can do about the weather but we are going to Strabane with the intention of winning the match."
