Eglinton Annual Show

Eglinton Annual Show will take place on Saturday, September 8 at 2pm in the Marquee, The Church Field, Ballygudden Road, with activities to suit everyone.

Competition sections include handicrafts, cakes and breads, floral art, fruit and vegetables, flowers, photography, wood and metal work, wine, eggs, and many children’s classes.

In all 28 trophies will be presented, with cash prises for each of 202 classes. Children are encouraged to participate to earn points for a prize for their school. The ‘Scarecrow Competition’ is included again, along with trade stalls, tuck shop and welly throwing. A four-wheeled dray and Clydesdales will be at the show will giving free rides to children, while teas will be served in the church hall by Eglinton Women’s Institute.

Norman Hamill, local journalist, will present the prizes at 3pm, when the winners of the £1,000 and £250 draws will be announced.

A ceile and supper will take place in the marquee. Tickets available from committee or at the door: Adults, £2, children £1.
