FOR many years Institute and other supporters of Irish League clubs have been crying out for a social club near the Riverside Stadium and now their wish has been granted.
Last Saturday the Friends of Institute Social opened it's doors for the very first time, situated, about five minutes walk from the club's ground, above the Travellers Inn (formerly the Three Mile House), much to the delight of Vice Chairman Trevor Hewitt.
"We know it's going to be take us a few months to get things up and running," he said.
"Everyone at Institute is delighted to have a place where supporters from both clubs can meet up before and after our home matches.
"We can also hold supporter club's meetings and other functions. The Social club also has a pool table, poker machines and a 42" plasma television, which will be showing all the cross channel Premier Division matches, before and after our home games."
The club's opening hours are 7pm until 11pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, while on Saturday the venue will open from 12.30pm until 11pm.
The vice-chairman also admitted that if any Institute supporters would like to help out at the Social Club, they should contact him on (0775) 456 8479.
